Unreal Render

I chose this vase to use as a material study for my modeling 2 class in spring 2020. It was my first adventure into the incredible potential of Unreal Engine.

The design is from my grandma’s lovely vase collection. She wasn’t sure what type it was, so it took a while of throwing descriptions out on the internet to be able to pin down the style as Bohemian Czech.

In late spring 2022, while preparing my portfolio for graduation, I came back to this piece and decided it needed some sprucing up. I updated the materials and rendered it again. It’s amazing the difference a proper render can make, and I’m really proud of how far I’ve come.

Sketchfab Render

This was also one of the first projects I brought into Sketchfab. Replicating the Unreal render turned out to be far more of a challenge then I expected and was a whole new material lesson in itself. I’ll be coming back to this soon and updating the Sketchfab render.
